DOUBLE GOLFING CROWN FOR SAM SNEAD

Rec. 9 p.m. NEW YORK. May 31. Sam Snead to-day won the Professional Golf Association title for the second time by defeating Johnny Palmer 3 and 2 in their 36-hole final on the Hermitage course, Richmond, Virginia. Snead thus becomes the first man to win the professional title and the masters’ tournament in one season. At 37, he is the oldest man to win the professional crown. He won 3500 dollars to-day, and becomes this year’s top money winner with a totahof 12,610 dollars.
