The Transport Charges Appeal Authority, in pursuance of his powers under sub-section (2) of section 20 of “ The Transport Law Amendment Act, 1948,” has directed the Transport Charges Committee, pursuant to the terms of the said section, to proceed to review the charges for the carriage of goods in all rate schedule areas in New Zealand and in individual licences and also in those areas, boroughs, or town districts where ho rate schedule is prescribed (including the charges for the carriage of goods in all city and town carrying rate schedules) for the purpose of considering whether any increase, or increases, in such charges are warranted by reason' of-current increases in wages‘prescribed by the Court of Arbitration and affecting the carrying industry and if so, for the purpose of prescribing such new, or amended, rate schedules, or otherwise, of providing for such increases in charges, if any, as may be deemed proper and appropriate in the circumstances.
