COMMUNIST ORGANISER’S ADDRESS

Sir,—ls “Matilda’s” pose of ignorance as to toe. difference between Socialism and Communism real or jiist another act of ridiculous bravado, she so often displays in your columns? She appears to be one of toe old real “ Tory Die-hards ” who cannot visualise any good in Labour control. That is to' use a well-known phrase, she is “ agin ” the Government, if it is Labour. They blind their visions to the many blunders of past Tory Government. They fail to realise that the present Labour Cabinet is led by a man who te a world figure where defending democracy is concerned. He (and they) are very much alive to the "pending danger from the potential Colossus from the East which threatens civilisation to-day. They have had a temporary check from the Communist elements and their fellow travellers which has to be overcome by a referendum. In a few .-months, this will be duly carried and then conscription will be put into force and this little country will, in due course, be ready, to rush to toe aid of the Mother Country, together with the other members of the Commonwealth family. Would “ Matilda ” not realise that the present Labour Cabinet, notwithstanding the rather unseemly past record of some of its older members, are to-day a staunch patriotic team, bent on doing their: duty ! to the Empire, even if it has to be done toe hard way. as at present.—l am, etc., ■ Plain Jane,
