CEMENT FROM ENGLAND NOW
What a farce importing thousands of tons of cement from Britain at £l2 per ton, when it could be produced in New Zealand for £7/10/- per ton if coal and shipping were available. A joint statement by the N.Z. Institute of Architects and the Federation of Builders said recently:
“New Zealand is in a sorry plight when there is a regulation against the ordinary man using a bag of cement to lay a patch of concrete path in his own backyard.” Such is the position we have reached under the Labour Government. There can be no improvement while Socialist Labour, with its restrictions and shortsighted policies, remains in office. Remember in November, and change the Government. (N.Z. National Party.)— PBA
