NATIONAL ORCHESTRA
DOMINION TOUR PLANNED SOUTH ISLAND EARLY IN t SEPTEMBER PA WELLINGTON, May 30. The National Orchestra of the New Zealand Broadcasting Service will begin a comprehensive tour of the Dominion in July, the Minister in charge of Broadcasting, Mr Jones, said to-day. The North Island itinerary will be: New Plymouth, Hawera, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Hastings, Napier, Gisborne. Hamilton and Auckland. There will be free concerts for school children in the provincial centres. It is intended that the orchestra shall leave for the South Island early in September and cove. 1 all the main cities and provincial towns: The itinerary is yet to be arranged. The orchestra will later visit Northland and Rotorua.
