Important Remits For Conference of Women's Division
The annual provincial conference- of the Otago branches of the Women’s Division, Federated Farmers, will be held tomorrow. This afternoon delegates will have a social meeting at the St John Ambulance Hall in York place, A long list of remits has been presented for discussion at the conference. These include proposals that vprisoners convicted of sexual offences be given more diastic punishment; that corporal punishment be instituted for persons guilty of assault on women and children; that country mothers who are unable, by reas?n of . heavy domestic duties, to supervise children on correspondence school l°fhu ai lu lav , e en S a ge extra help to enable them to do so should receive a minimum allowance of £1 per week; that the Government be asked to provide transport to their homes for girls working late on telephone exchanges; that the Government be urged to expedite rural power reticulation; that the Government be asked to lift the tax on cream sent in by country women.
