DUNEDIN BEATS PIRATES IN BEST RUGBY GAME OF SEASON AT CARISBROOK

With a fine win over Pirates on Saturday by 16 points to 8, Dunedin maintained its record as the only team in the Otago Rugby Football Union’s senior competition which has not conceded a championship point. The meeting of these teams attracted a crowd of over 3000 spectators to Carisbrook, and they were rewarded with the best game of the season. After being three points down at half-time, ZingariRichmond staged a good recovery in the second half of the game at Tahuna Park to defeat University B by 22 points to 9. Southern, one of the leaders, was well extended at Mosgiel, but had just a little too much finish for the Taieri team and won by 13 points to 6. Kaikorai beat Port Chalmers in a well-contested game at Port Chalmers by 15 points to 9, and Alhambra defeated Union by 14 points to 5 on the North Ground. The match between University A and Training College will be played later. The weather was fine and the grounds were in good order.
