MATCH AGAINST AUCKLAND
PA WELLINGTON, May 28. The council of the New Zealand Rugby Union last night approved of the Auckland application for a match against the returning Maori team, probably on Saturday, July 2. The exact date has not been fixed because of the uncertainty of plane travel arrangements. A similar application from Wanganui was declined on the ground that Wanganui would be inconvenient as a disbandment centre.
