SCATTERED DRIZZLE The weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Office in Wellington is:— Situation.—A trough of low pressure lies east of the South Island, and an anti-cyclone is centred near Tasmania. Forecast to 5 p.m.—Light to moderate southerly winds. Weather fair to cloudy inland, hut overcast near the coast, with some scattered dTizzle. Temperatures cool. Further Outlook.—Fair to cloudy. Weather in Dunedin.—Although the sun shone for 18 minutes only on Saturday, conditions were pleasant. There was a deterioration towards evening, however, and light rain or drizzle fell almost- continuously until late last night. The rainfall up to 9.30 a.m. on Saturday was O.Olin, but by the same time yesterday, 0.69 in had fallen. The maximum temperature - on Saturday was 56.3 degrees, the minimum 52.8 degrees, and the grass minimum 46.0 degrees. A light southerly breeze prevailed. Temperatures were lower - yesterday, the maximum being 48.3 degrees, the minimum 47 degrees and the grass minimum 47 degrees. No sunshine was recorded, and there was a fresh breeze from the south. The barometer reading at midnight was 30.15 in.
