ENTRANT FROM HAWERA
MISS NEW ZEALAND QUEST
PA WELLINGTON, May 29. Another entry for the Miss New Zealand quest was received at the headquarters of the quest on Saturday afternoon, the candidate being Miss Ava Wills, of Arthur street. Hawera. She is 19 years of age, and an assistant in a music store. Miss Wills s entry means that tnere will now be a contest to decide Miss Taranaki, tne other candidate being Miss Bobbie Woodward, of New Plymouth. A decision will be made at the North Island judging on June 9 and 10 in Palmerston North.
With only two days to go before entries close, the chairman of the quest, Mr A. J. Manson, to-night issued an appeal to those towns which were not yet represented in the quest to take action without delay. The latest entry brings the total to 21 candidates, representing 12 districts. This is two more than were represented in 1947.
