AUSTRALIAN INTEREST IN FISHING GROUNDS OFF THE SOUTH ISLAND
NZPA—Copyright SYDNEY, May 27. New fishing grounds would be exploited in New Zealand to supply the Australian trade, the managing director of New Zealand Fish Distributors, Mr G. Etherington, said to-day. The former Sydney trawler, Southern Odfean. would be used to test new sole and flounder grounds on the west coast of'the South Island next week. Mr Etherington will fly to New Zealand to join the trawler on its test trip- • „ . _ “If it were not for New Zealand fish more than half of Sydney’s fish shops would have nothing to sell,” he said.
