TO-DAY’S SPORTS
Sport in town and country to-day is:— Rugby Football. Citizens’ Shield matches and lower grade matches at the Show Grounds; Waitaki Sub-union competition at country centres; Junior Grade match at Enfield. Men’s Hockey.—Further competition matches at King George's Park. Basketball—Matches at the Waitaki Girls’ High School, Hospital, and Friendly Bay courts. Women’s Hockey.—Matches at Waimate and Duntroon. Men’s Golf.—A Mixed Foursome will be played for the qualifying round of the Banks Cup on the links to-day. Amateur Cycling.—The third Road Race in the Hood Shield series will be held from Orana Park at 2 p.m. ' Association Football.—Oamaru v. Northern Hearts (Timaru), at Takaro Park.
