WAR MEMORIAL
Unveiling at Georgetown
The Georgetown district war memorial will be unveiled to-morrow. It is to the memory of Signalman T. E. McPhee and Private W. W. McEwan, who fell in World War 11, 1939-1945, and is the work of Williams Bros., monumental sculptors, Oamaru. The ceremony will commence at 3 p.m. The devotional service will be conducted by the Rev. J. S. Hate and the unveiling will be performed by Mr I. T. Catto, president of the Oamaru RSA. Mr J. S. Adams, chairman of the Waitaki County Council, will give the address, and the Oamaru Garrison Band will be in attendance. Floral tributes will be laid on the memorial, including wreaths from the Awamoko school children, the Oamaru RSA, the residents of the district and local returned servicemen.
