STUD SALE
ABERDEEN ANGUS STOCK PRICES SATISFACTORY Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., in conjunction with Messrs Donald Reid and Co., Ltd., report having held their first annual Aberdeen Angus stud stock sale at the Allanton sale yards on account of Roberts and Co., “ Gladbrook,” Mr R. K. Ireland, “ Ribbonwood,” and Mr - Alan Grant “ Craigburn.” A total of 58 lots was submitted at auction, prices realised being satisfactory, especially as this was the first stud sale of its kind to be held in Otago. Buyers were present from Southland, Central Otago, and local districts, and a complete clearance was made. The sales included:— “ Gladbrook ” Stud.—Top price bull calves rpade to 60gns; average-price bull calves, 24gns; top-price heifer calves, 19gns; average-price heifer calves, 14gns. An outstanding show cow realised 55gns, and other cows were from 15gns to 42gns. ” Ribbonwood ” Stud. Two-year-old heifer made 46gns; cows, 15gns to 21gns. “ Craigburn ” Stud.—Cows made from 29gns to 36gns; three-year-old heifers, to 29gns.
