BALCLUTHA Small yardings of sheep and medium yardings of cattle were forward at yesterday’s Balclutha sale. There were 751 fat sheep. Prime wethers made 59s to 62s 6d; medium, 54s to 57s 6d; light, 46s to 47s 6d. Extra prime ewes made 33s to 34s 6d: prime 31s to 32s 6d; medium, 28s to 32s 6d; light, 24s 6d to 27s 6d. Extra prime lambs made to 48s 6d; prime, 40s to 42s 6d; medium, 38s to 39s 6d; light, 36s 6d. Store Sheep.—The yarding numbered 871. i Medium Romney cross ewe lambs made 41s 3d to 445; Romney cross wether lambs, 32s Id; culls, 17s 3d; medium Southdown wether lambs, 29s 6d; culls, 15s;_ mixed-aged wethers, 42s to 44s 9d. Fat Cattle.—There were 21 yarded. Extra prime cows made £l4 15s to £l7; prime £l2 to £l2 15s. Store Cattle.—Eighty-two were yarded. Rising four-year-old forward bullocks made £2O 7s 6d; two and a-half to three-year-old bullocks, £l4 15s; breeding Shorthorn cows, >£7 13s to £8 2s 6d; breeding Shorthorn heifers in calf, £6 to £8 17s 6d; two-year-old bullocks, £lO 2s 6d to £11; yearling heifers, to £6 10s. Dairy Cows.—Twelve were yarded. Cows made to £25 and heifers to £lB.
