VISITING CLERGYMAN
ADDRESS BY CANON HAMMOND A public address was given by a prominent visiting clergyman, Canon T. C. Hammond, in the Hanover Street Baptist Church last night. Canon Hammond, who is in Dunedin under the auspices of the Otago University Evangelical Union, is principal of the Moore Theological College' in Sydney, and is a past president of the InterUniversity Fellowship. In his address, Canon Hammond traced the growth of the Inter-Uni-versitv Fellowship from its beginnings at Cambridge University as the Gambridge inter-collegiate Christian Union. Speaking of the present day, he said: “God is working and the devil is working. Things are becoming tense and we want men and women who will take their stand on God’s side.”
