FARMERS’ WEEK
RUAKURA RESEARCH STATION PRIMARY FIELD REVIEWED A farmers’ week under the control of the director of the Ruakura Research Station is to be held from Monday, June 27, to Friday, .July elusive, in co-operation with Federated Farmers in the Waikato province. T.he week will be divided into three parts. Monday and Tuesday will be devoted to 10 papers read by leading scientific research workers dealing with problems of the sheep industry. These papers will be read during the day sessions as set out in the programme. The evening session on Monday will be devoted to technical films on various aspects of animal husbandry, and on Tuesday evening an open forum will be held to discuss “How can the production, of meat in New Zealand be increased? ” Wednesday will be a combined dairy and sheep field day at Ruakura. On Wednesday night the Department of Agriculture’s new film on the milking machine will be presented, and Thursday night will be an open forum. “ How can the output of dairy produce from New Zealand be increased? ” will be the subject of debate. The Thursday and Friday day sessions will deal with the dairy industry on similar lines to the sheep section.
