DANGEROUS AREA
NEW MACHINES AT CORSXORPHINE The Dunedin office of the Ministry of Works to-day issued a warning to the public, and to children in particular, to keep clear of the conduction area at Gorstorphine when a new State housing project whjch will provide another 230 State houses in Dunedin, extending from Lookout Point along Riselaw road to connect with the present Corstorphine settlement, is commenced. Two tournapulls, machines which were especially imported for the Roxburgh Gorge hydro-electric scheme will make the area dangerous, because of their high speed and the difficulty of controlling them. The tournapulls are powerful rubber-tyred units coupled with carry-all scrapers, and their use speeds up long-haulage earth moving. Their employment at Corstorphine will be in the nature of a trial. Drivers- of motor vehicles and the public w ere warned to keep a sharp lookout while in the area.
