PLANS UNDER WAY FOR EXTENSION TO NEW MILK STATION

The preparation of plans fof the duplication of the milk-treatment station at Logan Point is now being undertaken. A statement to this effect was made by the representative of the Department of Agriculture on the Metropolitan Milk Board, Mr T. McD. Foster, at the annual meeting of the board last night. Mr Foster added that he understood that the erection of the new wing would be. commenced at a reasonably early date, but it would be some time yet before more details were known about the future of the station. ,

His remarks resulted from questions by Mr N. D. Anderson about the duplication of the station. He said that the Minister of Marketing, Mr Cullen, had announced last October that there would be an. extension to the station, which was now too small, and there was an urgent need for expansion. He asked whether any information was available on the subject. The chairman, Mr \y. B. Taverner, said that no communication had yet been recevi Ydeform ? been received from the department, but he had heard unofficially that preparations were to be made to duplicate tile plant. He had no doubt that this would be done.' The board decided that the secretary, Mr A. E. Russell, should, ask for further information on the matter.
