A Bachelor!
Rec. 9 p.m. LONDON, May 26. George Frederick Tanner was sentenced at Gloucester to two / years’ imprisonment for describing himself as “ a bachelor ” when in fact in 20 years he had collected six wives. There is Annie in New South Wales, Kathleen somewhere in the Australian, hush, Irene in Sunderland. Elizabeth in Cheltenham, Constance in Birmingham, and another Kathleen—all of whom are believed to be alive. Tanner was prosecuted for falsely representing himself as a bachelor when marrying Elizabeth Ingram at Cheltenham in November, 1948.
