German Submarine Crew Lives Happily On South Sea Isle
NZPA—Copyright Rec. 9 p.m. BERLIN, May 25. About 40 German submarine men who sneaked their U-boat out of a Norwegian port just before the German surrender in 1945 are ndw living happily on a South Sea island, according to the newspaper Neider Deutsche Zeitung, quoted by the Associated Press Hamburg correspondent. The paper said the men had sent,, a letter posted in Wellington to a Hamburg man saying they were living happily with native wives, and did not intend to return until 1955.
