The team selected to represent New Zealand in the first match of the South African tour to be played against Western Province Universities on Tuesday next is:— Full-back: R. W. H. Scott (Auckland. Wing three-quarters: I. J. Botting (Otago), P. Henderson (Wanganui). Centre three-quarter: R. RElvidge (Otago). Five-eighths: F. R. Allen (Auckland), N. W. Black (Auckland). Half-back: L. T. Savage (Canter- , bury). Hooker: E. H. Catley (Waikato) Front-row: K. L. Skinner (Otago), J. G. Simpson (Auckland) . Side-row: J. R. McNab (Otago), P. J. Crowley (Auckland). Locks: C. Willocks (Otago), L. R. Harvey (Otago). Back-row: N. H. Thornton » (Auckland). In their choice the selectors gave preference to those players who have found form most quickly. _ Allen has recovered from his strained leg muscle. All the players are in excellent health. , , R. A. Dalton, who has rested longer than the others following a slight strain on the boat, and _who also visited the trials at Pretoria, is now in steady training, # and is expected to reach form shortly. The team practised at the famous Newlands Ground to-day, and will be officially weighed within the next day or two. . . , . The pack, however, is expected to average about 14.10, or nearly a stone heavier than the Combined University side. .
