BAND CONCERT
The first of a series of concerts by the Port Chalmers Marine Band was presented at the Laurier Theatre last Sunday. The performers were given a particularly warm welcome by the audience, which taxed the capacity of the theatre. The guest performers of the evening were the recently formed Dunedin Ladies’ Highland Pipe Band and Mr Ken Smith, champion cornetist of New Zealand. A machine from the Roslyn Fire Station answered a call to a chimney fire at Pitcairn street at 12.14 p.m. yesterday. A motorist received minor injuries when his car was involved in a collision at the intersection of Stuart and Albert streets and York place at mid-day yesterday.
