NATIONAL PARTY CONCERT
There was a large attendance on Monday afternoon, when a successful tea concert arranged by the women’s section of the National Party in the North Dunedin electorate was held in the Pioneer Women’s Hall. Those who contributed to the programme were: Mrs L. Johnson, Mrs Sparrow and Mrs Hall Masters (vocal solos), Mrs White and Master Bobby Cornish (elocutionary items), Miss Averil Stephens (dance), Miss Gwyneth Dunn (piano solo), Mrs O. Stokes (banjo solo), and Master Brian Snell (violin solo). Mrs Barkman was the accompanist. Mrs A. Middleton during the afternoon appealed for the assistance and support of all women members in this important election year. Great public interest has been shown in the radio ball to be held in the Town Hall to-night. All tickets were sold several days ago and there has been a similarly heavy demand for spectators’ tickets.
