OAMARU BEATEN
Association Football The Oamaru Association Football Club played a further match in the Cave up competition at Takaro Park on Saturday afternoon and was beaten by Fishermen (Timaru) by 2 goals to nil. The match -opened with both sides attacking vigorously but neither team could gain much ground. As the game advanced, Oamaru was responsible tor some good passing movements but riled to find the net through faulty 'oal-kicking. At half time there was no score. The second half opened brightly and 10 minutes later Dawson found the net for Timaru. Twenty-five minutes later Cook added a further goal to Fishermen’s total and the match finished with no further change in the score. Mr A. Napier was the referee. In a junior match Eveline (2) drew with A'.vamoa (2).
