PUBLIC NOTICES Notice to make returns of income UNDER '• THE LAND AND INCOME TAX ACT, 1923," AND AMENDMENTS. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Returns of Income for the year ended March 31, 1949, are required from:— (a) All companies, all persons in business (including farming), and all trustees, executors, and administrators, irrespective of whether a profit or a loss has been made; and (b) All other persons who derived during the year income from salary, wages, interest, rent, annuity, dividend, or other sources, where the total income so derived exceeded £2OO. Such returns are required to be delivered or forwarded to the Branch Office of the Land and Income Tax Department where the taxpayer's records are filed: (i) Not later than JUNE 1, 1949, where returns are for a year ending on any day falling in the period October 1, 1948, to March 31 1949, inclusive, and (ii) Within two months of balance date where returns are for a year ending on any day falling in the period April 1, 1949, to September 30, 1949, inclusive. Return forms are available at all post offices or from any office of the Land and Income Tax Department. Any person failing to furnish a return within the prescribed time is liable to a fine of up to £IOO. NOTE.—The extension of the date to JULY 31 for the furnishing of declarations of income other than salary or wages for social security charge purposes does not apply to returns of income, for income tax purposes, which must be furnished in accordance with the above notice.—F. (b) One red tail-lamp visible 300 feet to rear and fitted at rear centre or to the right thereof. (c) The rear number-plate must be adequately illuminated by a white light not visible from the rear. , Headlights must be dipped when likely to interfere with the vision of another driver or rider in motion.
