AMATEUR BOXING
VISIT OF CANTERBURY TEAM A team of Canterbury boxers will visit Dunedin to engage in amateur contests as preliminaries to the professional contest between Tommy Downes and Barney Clarke for the New Zealand light-heavy-weight title on May 23. The following contests have been arranged:— Feather-weight (four two-minute rounds).—C. Herriott (Christchurch) v. V. Rowe (Dunedin), D. Shaw (Christchurch) v. R. Goodfellow (Dunedin). Light-weight (four three-minute rounds). —K. Anderson (Dunedin) v. N. Hewitt (Christchurch). Welter-weight (four three-minute rounds). —S. Butterfield (Christchurch) v. Z. Unkovich (Dunedin). Middle-weight (four three-minute rounds).—E. Perry (Dunedin) v. K. McCoombe (Dunedin).
