SHOWERS DEVELOPING The official weather forecast issued by the Government Meteorologist in Wellington is:— Situation.—Pressures remain low to the east and an anti-cyclone in .the Western Tasman is approaching. Forecast to 5 p.m.—Variable winds with moderate south-westerlies predominating and freshening late today. Weather mainly fair, but showers developing from the south this afternoon. Temperatures cold. Weather in- Dunedin. —Tire sky was overcast and a few light showers fell yesterday morning,'“ but the weather improved considerably as the day progressed and in all the sun shone for 3hr 18min. Temperatures, • however, varied little from the previous day, the maximum being 50.1 degrees, the minimum 41.3 degrees and the grass minimum 32 degrees. Up to 9.30 a.m. 0.24 inches, of rain was recorded. The wind, was moderate to fresh from the south-west. After a gradual rise during the day the barometer was steady at midnight, when it read 30.05 inches.
