COMMUNIST ORGANISER’S ADDRESS
Sir,—lt is rather surprising that your report of Mr Wilcox’s meeting in the Concert Chamber sHould concentrate attention on the extraneous features rather than on the excellent address which the speaker gave for nearly an hour. The meeting was admirably controlled, both the speaker and the chairman giving courteous attention to all questions and interjections, even the offensive ones. Perhaps it is your opinion that the public will be impressed by displays of bad manners on the part of a group of striplings whose political immaturity harmonised well with their false moustaches. But the expressed attitude of responsible members of the audience was that, if they were paying taxes for the maintenance of “higher education,’’ and if what we saw at the Town Hall was a representative cross section of the half-finished product, then the sooner our money is more wisely spent the better.—l am, etc.,. Taxpayer—And How!
