FESTIVAL CONTINUED
GREEN ISLAND COMPETITIONS The Green Island Competitions Festival was continued last night, when the judges were Mr A. Meldrum and Mrs E. Bettin. Results:— Vocal Solo (13 and under 16 years).— Miss C. Hammer 1, Miss J. Mason 2, Miss M. Ryan 3. Highly commended: Miss M. Reynolds. Vocal Duet in Character (under 11). Misses K. Ayshford and S. Craig 1, Master I. Hannah and Miss A. Thompson 2, Misses M. Harman and G. Lawrence 3. Highly commended: Misses A. Richardson and D. Carr, Misses B. Kidd and E. Hand. One-act Plays —Green Island WI Drama Circle 1 and 2. Mrs Bettin, commenting on the plays, said that they were two most enjoyable comedies: had very good characterisation, bright action and splendid climaxes. They were a big improvement on last year’s standard.
