TANKER BRINGING PETROL FOR NEW OIL FUEL COMPANY

Special Correspondent WELLINGTON, Apl. 19. Duo at Dunedin on Friday, the tanker British Resolution will discharge almost 1,000,000 gallons of petrol there for the British Petroleum Company of New Zealand. She carries the first shipment for the new company. It will fill only a-third of the tank storage in Dunedin, which will accommodate 3,500.000 gallons of petrol and smaller quantities of other fuels. The British Resolution discharged part of her total cargo of 3,200,000 gallons at Wellington, and will leave here to-morrow for Lyttelton and Dunedin. She has been in Wellington for a longer stay than the normal tanker visit of a mere 24 hours, as the filling of new tanks for the first time has presented some problems. The company’s products are expected to be on the market later this month or early next, at different times in various parts of New Zealand. The British Resolution, which has brought her fuel cargo from Abadan, is one of a fleet of 109 tankers owned by the British Tanker Company, a subsidiary of the oU company.
