Wingatui Horses May Race Well at Riccarton To-day
Wingatui stables are strongly represented on (lie first day of the Canterbury Jockey Club's autumn meeting, which opens at Riccarton to-day. The bracket of Frances and The Grate is likely to be a warm favourite in the Great Autumn Handicap, in which Wingatui stables will also be represented by Fine Night and Speedy, two horses with more than an outside chance. Western Winner is reported to be in great order for his engagement in the Champagne Stakes, where he will be opposed by two high-class two-vear-olds in Golden Spa and Super Snipe. The Wingatui candidate can be expected to fully extend the others in the race.
