SEVERE DROUGHT IN SUDAN
NZPA—Copyright KHARTOUM, Apl. 15. The Government is organising relief measures, as a severe drought in Eastern Sudan is destroying the livelihood of thousands of nomad tribesmen and threatening them with starvation. Rains failed for the second successive year, and the tribesmen’s animals are dying by hundreds. The Government has released 1000 tons of grain for distribution among the tribesmen.
