THREE ENDOWMENTS
DUNEDIN PUBLIC LIBRARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP GIVEN Mr A. H. Reed, Mr C. R. Allen and Mrs J. H. Stewart have been elected endowment life members by the Executive Board of the Dunedin Public Library Association. Endowment life members are those who pay £IOO or more at their own option for an endowment. Mr Reed has given the association securities for the endowment of the Alfred and Isobel Reed collection. Mr Allen’s endowment is to provide interest for the purchase of books on the theme of childhood in literature. Mrs Stewart, a vice-president of the association, has given the library a collection of flute music to be known as the J. W. Stewart Music Collection. The endowment is for the maintenance of the collection. Mrs Stewart had previously endowed the Trimble Walt Whitman Collection.
