SCATTERED DRIZZLE f The official weather forecast issued by the Government Meteorologist in Wellington is:— 1 ■ Situation . 'An extensive anticyclone covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand. , Forecast to 5 p.m.—Light to moderate winds from a southerly quarter. Weather cloudy and cool near the coast with scattered drizzle or light rain. Mainly fair inland. Further Outlook.—Fine. Weather in Dunedin.—There was little sunshine in the city during the weekend, 3hr 43min and 2hr 18mm being recorded on Saturday and Sunday respectively. A trace of rain fell on Saturday and .04in were recorded on Sunday. The wind was from the south-west on both days. The maximum temperature •on Saturday was 54 degrees, the minimum 47.7 degrees and the grass minimum 39 degrees. On Sunday the maximum was 59.8 i degrees, the minimum 48.7 degrees, and the grass minimum 32.2 degrees. Pressure steadily rose during the week-, end and last night it rose sharply, the barometer reading at midnight being 30.15 m.
