ORKNEY AND SHETLAND SOCIETY
At the annual meeting of the Orkney and Shetland Society, on Tuesday night, the president, Mr J. Jamieson, said the society had had a successful year. The socials had been well attended, and the high standard of items and dancing had been well maintained. An appeal was made to the younger members to join the committees by Mr Jamieson, as the society had now entered its twenty-first year. The time had come for them to take a larger share in the management of the society, he said. Officers elected were:—Patron. Mr W Stevenson: president, Mr M. L. Flett; immediate past president, Mr J. Jamieson; secretary, W. Sabiston; treasurer. Mrs W Steffens; auditor, Mr A. B. Fra,ser; vicepresidents—Messrs P. Fraser, R. Bcws. G. T. Munroe, ,W. Munroe, J. Hunter P. Fraser, Mesdames J. Sutherland Ross, W. Smith, ,T. Bucot and A. Jamieson: committee—Mesdames L. Flett, A. Tail, M. Nicholson, A. Jamieson, N. Johnston, E Cromarty, W. Steffens, Miss K. Stevenson, Messrs J. Sabiston. N.
