FIRE BRIGADE COMPETITIONS MOVE BY ASSOCIATION Special to the Daily Times OAMARU. Apl. 15. . A motion that all the brigades in the district association undertake to make recommendations to the executive on the prospects of increasing the number of teams competing at the annual competitions was passed at a conference of the Southern Districts Fire Brigades Sub-association or Otago and Southland at Oamaru tonight. It was further agreed that the executive ask the United Fire Brigades’ Association to forward to the Internal Affairs Department the recommendation arising from the inquiry for consideration by the proDosed central authority vyhich would be responsible for the training of the service. The motion was the outcome of a remit by the Milton Volunteer Fire Brigade that at future demonstrations ladder and pump events do not count, for shield points in order to encourage smaller brigades to compete for championships. ’ The brigade agreed to withdraw the remit in favour of the motion.
