FALSE BURGLAR ALARM

WINDSOR CASTLE CORDONED OFF NZPA—Copyright LONDON, Apl. 13. When a “ short ” in the electric system of the. burglar alarms at Windsor Castle started alarms ringing tonight the police placed a cordon round the town, and checked the identity cards of all people at the local railway station, on buses, and entering or leaving Windsor in cars. When the fault was discovered the police were withdrawn.

The King is at present at the Royal Lodge, Windsor where he will spend Easter.
