DESIRE FOR SINGLE STATE Rec. 9 p.m, LONDON, Apl. 14. The most significant thing in the Arab world was “ the intense, almost universal urge ” toward a single State made up of Syria, Iraq, Transjordan, and Arab Palestine, said the secretary of the Arab Office. Mr Edward Atiyah, after touring the Near East. He said the Arab defeat in Palestine was the immediate cause of the urge towards unification, though the foundation had been laid earlier by the pioneers of the Arab movement.
