PARENTS’ PART

HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION AIM OF CO-OPERATION The school should not just train.pupils to learn but should give them a love for learning, declared Mrs T. D. Adams, a member of the Otago High Schools’ Board, in a brief address to the annual meeting of the King’s High School Parents’ Association last night. This end would be more easily achieved by the complete co-operation of teacher, pupil and parent. Mrs Adams urged parents to take an active interest in the school and not merely watch their own children's progress. She knew that the moral support given to the rector and staff at King's was a great aid to them in their work. A review of the board’s work was also given by Mrs Adams The president, Mr G. Stratton, said King’s High School was one of the leading boys’ secondary schools in New Zealand, and for this much credit belonged to Mr D. S. Chisholm, first rector of the school.
