COUNCIL OF SPORT
ANNUAL MEETING OF DELEGATES The annual meeting of the Otago Council of Sport was held last night. The president, Mr C. J. L. White, occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance of delegates. Moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, the president said that during the past year the council had been established once again as a thoroughly efficient working body 'Hie year had been a remarkable one for the number of visiting teams and players from overseas who had visited Dunedin, and the council appreciated the fact that the Mayor, Sir Donald Cameron, had taken not only an official but also a great personal interest in all of the visiting teams and players. Mr F L. C. Scrivener, who seconded the motion, referred to the debt all sporting bodies owed Mr White for his efforts in regard to licences to.sports bodies for the allocation of petrol. The motion was earned. . ‘ The election of office-bearers resulted. President, Mr C. J. L. White; immediate past president, Mr E. C. Isaacs; vicepresident, Mr F. L. C. Scrivener; honorary treasurer, Mr E. L. Hope; honorary auditor, Mr W. Hall Masters; honorary solicitor, Mr C. J. L. White; committee—Messrs L. D. Smith, A. T. Tate W. Fleury, W. E. Johnston, Mrs G. Columbus, and Misses E. Ferguson and E. Nicholson. The appointment of the secretary was delegated to the incoming executive. It was decided to nominate Mr C. JL.. White for the position of vice-presi-dent of the New Zealand Council of Sport.
