US AMBASSADOR TO MOSCOW RESIGNS
WASHINGTON, Mar. 24. President Truman to-day accepted the resignation of Lieutenant-general Walter Bedell Smith ns Ambassador to Moscow. The White House announced (hat President Truman acceded to General Smith's request with great reluctance. and did so to permit him to return to a field command.
