DEFENCE RIFLES
The Oamaru Defence Rifle Club fired its ninth championship shoot at 500 and 600 yards at the Federal range on Saturday ‘ afternoon. Erratic wind and bad changing light made shooting difficult. Boyer 39—33 77, W. Halkett 37—39—76, C. McGaughey 43—33—76, W. Youngman 39—35—74, G. Allan 40—33—73. A. Hall 35—35—70. W. Smith -38-38, N. Hicks 4—29—33. A Handicap Competition for trophies presented by Rifleman G. Allan was held in conjunction with the shoot and was won by Riflemen I, Swinard, E. Gilchrist, t R. L. McLatchie, W. Halkett, C McGaughey, W. Fallon.
