ADESS SHIELD
FINAL STAGES REACHED Tainui and Caversham will contest the final of the Adess Shield bowling competition next Saturday. The semi-finals were completed at the Anderson's Bay green last Saturday, when Tainui (Mills, skip) 22 beat Dunedin (Veilch, s.) 19, and Caversham (McDougall, s.) 23 beat St. Kilda (Belcher. s.) 16. The green was in excellent order, although a little heavy at first, and some fine bowling was seen. J. Veitch played outstanding bowls for Dunedin and on the twenty-first nearly succeeded in forcing an extra head. In the other game the St. Kilda players were eight down with three heads to play but on the nineteenth they greatly improved their position by scoring an excellent six, all drawn. Caversham. however, played an extra head on the twentieth and increased its margin by 4
