Part of a shipment of 6400 cases of soap being shipped from Dunedin for the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, was loaded on to the Leicester at Birch street wharf yesterday. Some of the money collected last year in the United Nations Appeal for Children was used to purchase soap in New Zealand, and a shipment of 40,000 cases is now being sent to Trieste, Beirut, and Helsinki.
