Attractive Air and Bowling Green Among Fancies for Oamaru

With the weather apparently somewhat more settled than it was on Wednesday, the attendance at Oamaru to-day for the second day of the local Jockey Club’s meeting will probably be much larger than it was on the first day, and there is every prospect of some fine racing. A field of 10 is engaged in the Gardiner Memorial Handicap, Speedy’s name having been missed in the list of acceptances, and in the Farewell Hack Handicap Flying Fort 7.7, should have been included There are only three brackets on the card —Judge’s Writ and Village Beauty in the Novice Stakes No. 1, Haughty Queen and Swithindale in the Waikaura Trot, and Clinker Hall and Lumberjack in the Landon Trot.
