COAL PIT DISASTER SOUTH OF TRIESTE
Rec. 11 p.m ROME. Mar. 24. A roof fall is reported to have trapped and killed 18 miners in a coal pit near Albona, in Yugoslav territory, south of Trieste. The mine is in the Arsa Valley coal basin, where 100 miners were killed in a pit disaster in 1948.
