WATER STORAGE GAIN
In spite of an increase in the use of water, the volume stored in the Dunedin reservoirs is now 105.026,000 gallons—an increase of 4,140,000 gallons during the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday. The use of water has increased to about 6,000,000 gallons a day since the restrictions were lifted, compared with about 4,500,000 gallons a day previously. The damage to 66 feet of the Silverstream race caused by the recent heavy rain has now been repaired The Water Committee will recommend to the City Council on Monday night that an offer be accepted from the trustees of the estate of the late G. H. Robinson for the transfer to the council of 6 acres 2 roods 37.5 poles from the Woodside Estate, at Flagstaff, for £lO. The land is described as an isolated block adjoining the council’s water reserves in the Ross Creek catchment area.
