EXCELLENCY FANCIED IN CHALLENGE STAKES
Special to the Daily Times WELLINGTON. Mar. 10. The Wellington Racing Club will conclude its autumn meeting at Trentham on Saturday. There was some heavy rain early in the week, but this has only freshened up the grass on the course proper, which will be firm and fast unless there is further rain. The weather appears to be fairiy settled. Plans for all horses with more than one engagement have not been completed. Abbotsford is to run in the Pacific Handicap, Corofin in the Challenge Stakes, and False Step in the. Suburban Handicap. Lord Manna will race at Wellington and decline his Taranaki Cup engagement. Horses in favour include:— 11.10: Ngaio Hurdles.—Voltage. Baksoon. Gold Lad. 11.55: North Island Challenge Stakes. — Excellency, Voltaic.
