REQUEST TO LIFT BOYCOTT 5 IGNORED PA AUCKLAND, Mar. 9. v From to-night all employees of the ’Auckland Master Carriers’ Association Will be under notice of dismissal. This affects 800 men. f The notice served on the union that this action would be taken unless the boycott imposed on certain firms was lifted expired at 8 o’plock this morning. No reply had been received from the union.
This means that all cartage to and from the waterfront at the discretion of the association will cease from Wednesday morning next if there is no Change in the industrial situation. t; : The Master Carriers’ Association is stated to be working out a formula for implementing its decision so that essential services can be maintained to public institutions. The question of the delivery of foodstuffs is not yet involved.
